ZITEC project partner of WInD research project

Survey to enhance the coordination skills in machinery and plant construction

The target of the WInD research project supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is the enhancement of coordination skills in the production network of machinery and plant construction.

As project partner for the industry division ZITEC handles the information exchange between machinery and plant contruction companies and manufacturers of power transmission components.

INITIAL SITUATION

The dynamic markets of today require efficient business processes and a high responsiveness for short-term change requests from the German machinery and plant construction industry.
High data quality and flexible operating information systems are the key factors for success. These are affected by the following problems:

CURRENT PROBLEMS

  • Unsufficient data availability because of media breaks and interface problems
  • Poor data quality by non synchronized multiple data holder
  • Production planning and control on the basis of scheduled and average figures

PROJECT TARGET

  • Increase in data availability by closing of known standardization gaps
  • Increase in data quality by transferring electronic product codes from the trade to the machinery and plant construction industry
  • Development of a decentralized planning and regulation logic to process real time data as a further development of existing PPC-concepts (MRP II etc.)
  • Standard expansion for external order processing (myOpenFactory)
