Dr Otto Max Schaefer becomes the new CEO of ZITEC Group

As of 01st of August 2014 Dr Otto Max SCHAEFER will be named CEO (Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung) of ZITEC Group and its operational companies. Dr SCHAEFER will take over the position of former CEO Walter NEMETZ who has led and developed the company since 1997. Dr SCHAEFER joined the company in July and will lead the company together with the present managing directors Friedrich SCHUB and Christian AUMÜLLER.

In parallel Walter NEMETZ will move to ZITEC’s parent company IPH and will be responsible for strategy and development of IPH in Europe.

Dr SCHAEFER brings to the ZITEC Group a strong experience in management and industry. He started his career with “The Boston Consulting Group” as strategy consultant. Then he was for 9 years Managing Director and later Chairman of the NETZSCH Group, a mid-sized, family-owned German company engaging in the manufacture of machinery and instrumentation with worldwide presence, which he strongly developed during his tenure.

Pierre POULETTY, CEO of IPH says: “We have the pleasure to welcome Dr SCHAEFER as the new Vorsitzender der Geschäftsführung (CEO) of ZITEC as well as a member of the IPH Board of Directors. The German market is the biggest market in Europe for the Technical Distribution and is the key priority of growth for the IPH Group. Dr SCHAEFER will strongly contribute to the development of ZITEC in Germany and will strengthen the IPH Group. I am also very happy to be able to count on Walter NEMETZ’s entrepreneurship and talent to develop the IPH Group in Europe.”

Walter NEMETZ adds: “I am strongly convinced that under the leadership of Dr SCHAEFER the present management team as well as all of the employees will be able to continue successfully the growth of the ZITEC Group in Germany.”

“I am proud to take over responsibility at ZITEC, one of the most innovative and highly successful companies in Technical Distribution”, says Dr SCHAEFER referring to his new function.

The ZITEC Group aims for an annual turnover of 160 Mio. € in 2014 and is in charge of the development of the German market within the European sales and service network of the IPH Group. ZITEC intends to continue developing through organic growth as well as through further acquisitions to be present in all of the important industrial regions in Germany. “Together we have set up ambitious targets and we are in the best position to reach these”, says Dr. SCHAEFER.
